Re: Action Movie Script Wanted-- Budget Under 2 Million

Hi there,

I wrote a most excellent action book titled Revenge of the Gangster. In the book a small time drug dealer, nicknamed Tony Montana from the scareface movie, dies in a car chase and finds himself in hell. He kills Satan and takes his super magic power.

With his newly acquired ultimate powers he returns to earth only to cause trouble. He robs banks with magic abilities, conjuring up all sorts of weapons, flying, teleporting and throwing fireballs. He seeks revenge on triads, police and others.

He visits the gream reaper for battle after he is haunted in his dreams and finds a hit list so as it can help him dominate the earth. He then finds himself taking out entire armies with his power.

Heaps of action and he taunts his enemies, screaming his head off, before bashing and/or killing them.

Let me know if you are interested.

Elevator Pitch:
In a penal system where a new memory control machine drives murderers insane by sending them back every day to relive the moment after the murder they committed so they will feel some remorse, an everyday father tries to discover if he's innocent of killing his own daughter whilst fighting to stay alive in prison with the help of his psychotic cell mate and a murdered woman stuck in limbo.
Theme:
A thriller centered around a normal man who has been set up for the murder of his daughter as an experiment by a corporation who has failed to consider the possible links between memories and the human consciousness of both the alive and the dead through the use of their new memory manipulation machine.
We explore the link between the conscience of the murderer and its effect on the murdered victims life force.
The undertone looks at the transition of a normal self-conscious family man into a single minded killing machine capable of anything to reach his goal of proving his innocence whilst being manipulated by a psychopath killer and advised by the tortured ghost of a murdered woman.

How old is your Steven Seagal type?

I ask because I have a very commercial bang-bang, shoot'em-up Action-Dramedy: One Way Tickets, "An aging combat veteran leads misfits and discount heroes in an attempt to free his kidnaped younger brother."

First pages and brief synopsis posted here: [sign in to see URL]

Locations in South Florida and Dominican Republic (where they offer incentives).

           BELOW LEVEL 7
           A screenplay by
           David Orange
       (Based on actual events)

Genre: Action, Horror 108 pages

SAM DAWSON, a former army Special Forces sergeant, still dealing with the bitter failure of his last mission and a divorce, is supposedly hunting big game on a northern New Mexico Indian reservation. CARLA, a college coed, is fearful her estranged father’s erratic, drunken behavior is plummeting him into despair. What she doesn’t know is that Sam’s about to pull the trigger on his empty existence. Her surprise visit interrupts his plans and then, when Carla vanishes under mysterious circumstances, Sam, energized with new purpose, races into action.

At the abduction site, after a quick and fruitless search, the police stall Sam's efforts and seek to blame the local Indians. But one native, an aged Apache called BILLY TWO SNAKES, catches Sam's eye and points him to a mesa-topped mountain looming in the distance. Billy, whose wife had been abducted years ago, has been waiting for her return. Together, the stubborn efforts of these very different men will unlock the key to the mountain’s deep dark secret.

It seems a certain tribe of Apaches have been fighting a secret war for generations. Billy, invoking native history and folklore, enlists the whole tribe to help, while Sam contacts two of his old Special Forces buddies. Even Mother Nature has a part to play in this epic struggle.

Fighting them every inch of the way is a covert above the law sector working in the obscurity of the American government—the Shadow Group. They know why people are disappearing and will do anything to protect the frightening Faustian bargain behind it.

Sam’s daughter is held prisoner on Level 5, known as Nightmare Hall, where she holds onto life by a thread. Helping her cope is a male captive who teaches her tricks to sidestep the mutilation experiments, at least so they can live another day.

With the clock ticking to Sam saving his daughter from a sickening fate, he’s finding it virtually impossible to breach the mountain’s revolutionary high-tech security. He’s relegated to listening to addled old Billy who wants to infiltrate the mountain by using folklore strategies of his ancient ancestors to battle the enemy inside.

But not all the dwellers inside the mountain are enemies. EL-TE has had experiments done to him, making him only half-human but still in possession of human sensitivity. He has a real soft spot for the prisoners being held against their will, especially a young woman he’s fallen for. But can El-Te be trusted? Or will his non-human makeup lead to the downfall of Sam’s rag-tag forces?
Can the diabolical group lurking below Level 7 be stopped from spreading further a heinous agenda against mankind?

Re: Action Movie Script Wanted-- Budget Under 2 Million

Hi. Please find the logline and synopses for two action scripts that might fit your needs and which have your Steven Segal type of male leads. I'm also pasting a short resume.

"Lock Down" is an ultra low budget script that takes place in a single room in a mental asylum. "Sweetheart" is a martial arts script.

Thanks.

SWEETHEART

Logline: A newly divorced man seeks out the high school sweetheart he has not seen in twenty years and ends up finding her, her martial artist husband and the mobster who wants to kill them all.

Synopsis: High school football star TIM NORVILLE has the hots for VALERY CICCONE, but gets beat up by her black belt boyfriend DON. Bent on revenge, he takes up karate and excels, but then discovers that Don and Valery have eloped.

Years later, 38-year old Tim is a high-powered divorce attorney who teaches karate on the side and whose wife has just left him. He decides to seek out the only girl he ever really loved -- Valery, still married to Don, who is now a former world karate champion, living in a small northern California town. But Don is in debt to a local mobster. Tim arrives, sweeps a very unhappy Valery off her feet, but even that’s not enough, so Tim signs up for a kickboxing tournament sponsored by the loan shark. Tim then learns that Sebalj has rigged the fight to prevent Don from winning the large cash prize and paying his debt off.

Tim and Don plow through the competition, but by the time the two battered old warriors are about to face each other, Tim has realized how obsessed and cruel he’s become, so he gives up his place to allow Don to fight the loan shark’s ringer for the championship.

Don defeats the ringer who follows Tim, intent on shooting him. Tim saves Don, but the ringer blurts out that Tim’s been having an affair with Valery. Don turns and walks away. Tim follows him and they finally end up fighting. Don batters Tim nearly into unconsciousness, but somehow Tim prevails and, as the victor, makes one demand of Don: that he go back to Valery. Now Tim turns and walks away, his past finally in the past.

LOCK DOWN

Logline: When an earthquake frees murderous asylum inmates, a terrified nurse locks herself in a room with the most dangerous inmate of them all.

SANDI is a nurse in a mental asylum for the criminally insane. One day stunningly powerful psychopath known only as THE PATIENT is brought in. When The Patient begins beating up a small army of Attendants, he is sedated to the point of lethality, and then restrained in a room that doubles as the facility's safe room -- it can be locked from either the outside or the inside.

A massive earthquake strikes, freeing the hospital's psychopathic patients and forcing Sandi to lock herself in the safe room with The Patient. She soon discovers that The Patient is a vampire who has arranged to have himself sent to the hospital so that he can kill the psychopath who raped and killed The Patient's' wife.

The massive earthquake serves as the tipping point for a world already on the edge. When the nearby nuclear reactor ruptures and gangs flood the streets in an unprecedented killing spree, the chaos spreads across America and inspires similar gang uprisings in other countries. Sandi and the Patient watch some of it unfolding on the room's occasionally working television.

Sandi mistakenly allows some of the inmates to burst into the room. The Patient strapped to his bed, and with a hundred times the safe dosage of sedative in him, barely prevents one of the psychopaths from raping Sandi and in the process bites half the psychopath's face off.

The Patient finally frees himself and goes out into the hospital to find the man who killed his wife. He returns seven hours later with the good and bad news: the inmate he bit turned into a vampire and has infected all the other inmates. The good news is that The Patient has killed a quarter of the inmates. The bad news is that they are all gaining strength as they complete the process of becoming full vampires.

One of the vampire inmates breaks into the room and bites Sandi. The Patient tries to protect her from herself as she changes into a vampire, but must leave her side to battle the other inmates forcing their way into the room.

Eventually The Patient kills or fights off the other vampires, and saves a single member of a SWAT team sent to the asylum. They now know that the outside world they knew has changed irrevocably, chaos now spreading across the fragile globe. The Patient, SWAT cop, and the newly vampirized Sandi break out of the asylum, with no idea what they will face.

TITLE: Code Day Zero
PAGES: 100
COPYRIGHT: Library of Congress WGA registered.

LOGLINE: With nuclear war approaching, the President orders USS Constitution to escape and return and inspire a post-apocalyptic world; instead Old Ironsides thwarts a nuclear holocaust.

CONDENSED SYNOPSIS: Old Ironsides and a hand-picked crew are to set sail from Boston. Also loaded with an archive of the nation's documents of democracy, they're to somehow hide in some remote stretch of the south Atlantic and wait. If there's anything left after hostilities the world's oldest continuously commissioned warship is to return and inspire post-apocalyptic survivors to re-establish a new America.

During preparations to sail the frigate's sailing master is transported to the early 19th century, into the intrigues leading to the War of 1812. In the past he realizes he must do nothing to change the future, but -- rescued by an Italian countess, a spy with her own agenda -- he is forced to. He survives battles at sea, captivity by Barbary pirates, marooning and discovers renewed patriotism, romance and -- most of all -- himself. He returns to the 21st century where the countess awaits him. She guides Old Ironsides on an even more improbable mission to sink a Chinese submarine and thwart the launch of a nuclear holocaust

SCREENPLAY AVAILABLE ON REQUEST

CODE DAY ZERO is adapted from my latest action/adventure novel, Code Day Zero: USS Constitution's Escape from Armageddon (Outskirts Press, B&N, Amazon).
