Title: "The Maneuver"
Logline: A tormented Socialite fights to prove her innocence after a wealthy industrialist frames her for causing a fatal car wreck.

My name is Matthew H Emma and I have authored a drama titled "The Maneuver" I would be honored if you took the time to read. Recently, one of my other scripts was purchased by a production company.
"The Maneuver" combines high stakes and intriguing plot twists to produce an exciting, dramatic story. The story centers on Countess Maria de Canadas, an unconfident, struggling, ex-alcoholic Socialite attempting to put her life back together following an event which made her the scourge of the elite, Long Island, New York community she resides in and placed her at odds with husband Ted. Things go from worse to horrendous when Maria is involved in a car wreck that costs several people their lives.
Maria knows she is innocent, but unfortunately sustained temporary memory loss in the accident. Before she is released from the hospital, Claude DePuis, a wealthy businessman and New York Gubanatorial candidate, exploits Maria's condition and uses the ghosts from her past, makes her the prime suspect in the accident investigation and ultimately frames her. However, Maria gradually regains her memory and, in the process, recalls Phillipe, Claude's son was responsible for the accident. What Maria does not realize is that Phillipe has a big secret to hide, which if exposed threatens to forever alter his and the lives of Claude and Ted. A defiant Maria continues to prove her innocence. However, Maria's probing eventually leads to the shocking discovery that her and Phillipe's past are intertwined and leads to a dramatic conclusion which places Maria's life in jeopardy.
Thank you for your consideration. A copy of the script is available upon request.

Joy-Bot Paradise

In this dystopian drama set in 2040, a man and a woman face-off against girlmageddon, the phasing out of the female gender.

Set in 2040 when artificial-womb technology has been perfected to the point where women are no longer required as gestaters, the female gender faces the prospect of being selected out of existence.

The British Governing Council is considering a motion to “reduce the female to male ratio”. This move is widely expected to be the prelude to an eventual elimination of “general purpose females”.

Two young people have been selected to present to Council their opposing views on the motion. One of them is Jade, a woman of twenty-five who will be advocating for her own sex. The other is Brendan, a charming man of twenty-five who will be providing an opinion on whether the latest Joy-Bot technology is up to the task of replacing women in their sexual capacity.

Jade confers with some friends as she prepares her presentation for the Council. They debate the merits of womanhood and all the possible arguments for retaining it.

Brendan confers with his mates at a pub where they drink too much and act like idiots.

Jade is advised by the wife of the Council president that her presentation is for show only, and that Council’s only true concern is in hearing Brendan proclaim the arrival of the long-awaited Joy-Bot Paradise. Jade’s only hope to save the future of her gender is to undermine Brendan’s presentation so that Council will not get the endorsement they want for their motion.

Jade contacts Brendan and convinces him to meet with her to discuss their presentations.

When they get together Jade loses sight of her objective of winning over Brendan and instead becomes frustrated with his willingness to accept girlmageddon. She belittles him and he walks out.

Jade is more than a little surprised when it turns out that Brendan finds her confrontational style to be highly invigorating and much preferable to his Joy-Bot experience.

Brendan’s altered attitude leads to romantic feelings between them. Problems arise when Brendan’s government-appointed handler uses legal coercion to get Brendan to agree to a positive review of the Joy-Bot.

When she delivers her presentation to Council, she warns them of the threat of becoming protoplasmic replicas of the bots they so cherish. This so impresses Brendan that he dispenses with his prepared text and rejects the notion of a Joy-Bot paradise..

Upon learning of Brendan’s actions Jade becomes convinced that a romance with him might be worth a try even if the future for both of them looks decidedly un-promising in the dystopian world of the second half of the twenty-first century.

The script is designed to be produced on a limited budget, with few locations and few actors, and no special effects. There are no robots in this script.

Hi. I'm UK based.I have a good sized bank of scripts including shorts, sitcoms, TV thrillers, comedy dramas and feature scripts. Most are low budget (but some aren't). Give me a shout if you'd like to see any of my work.

Best,

produced screenwriter responds

Hi Jess,
I'm a produced screenwriter who's written scripts for films starring Ben Kingsley, Natasha Lyonne and Maggie Q. I may have something for you. How much money do you have in the bank to actually shoot, edit and do the post for your proposed film? Once you tell me that, I'll know which loglines to send your way.
Thanks
Richard Lasser
(you may look up my complete credits on IMDb if you like).
