Title: Sting
Pages: 103
Genre: Psychological Thriller/Horror

Logline: MORGAN SEAR (7) is stung by a bee and unaware she is allergic she falls into an anaphylactic shock that almost ends in tragedy. She then receives disturbing visions that involve the victims of a series of abductions which occurred before she was born.

Summary: Morgan is saved by her quick thinking mother JILL SEAR (28) who recalls that her late husband was allergic to bee stings and that he once stashed an emergency Epi-pen in her handbag.
Jill is horrified however when the seizures continue and red welts appear on specific areas of Morgan’s body. Seeking answers to her condition she enlists the advice of a young doctor who reassures her that the symptoms are all part of the process of an anaphylactic allergic reaction.
Jill also relies on her best friend EMMA (28) an artist and free spirit who has been part of her support system since the death of her husband. Emma is loyal and understanding and she shares a special bond with Jill’s daughter whom she has nicknamed, ‘Smudge’. Unfortunately Emma’s impulsive nature places Morgan in danger and her mother is once again required to come to her rescue.
Whilst driving Morgan home from hospital Jill stops when her daughter is overcome by a sudden bout of car sickness. Then after noticing an old chapel mother and daughter venture inside to explore. Jill and Morgan stumble across stunning artworks painted on the chapel walls and they encounter a caretaker who is restoring the works.
The caretaker explains that the renditions are copies of William Blake etchings that his mother painted in an attempt to overcome her depression after the death of her husband. He doesn’t mention that she neglected his upbringing while she painted or that he has kidnapped a single mother named MARY SHIELDS who he keeps imprisoned in the chapel’s basement.
When Jill tells Emma about the artworks she warns her friend that the caretaker caused her to feel uncomfortable and she recommends she avoid the chapel. But Emma is spontaneous and after she learns that Morgan left her teddy bear behind at the chapel she ignores the advice. Emma is also unaware that Morgan is influencing events in an attempt to expose the dark secret hidden in the chapel’s basement.
Morgan knows from her visions that Mary Shields is being held captive and that FAITH CONNOR (15) was murdered in the chapel during an escape attempt. Could she be manipulating Jill and Emma so she can retrieve the gold pendant Faith hid moments before she was murdered and to fulfil a promise that was made before she was born?
Sting is a female driven psychological thriller with a touch of the supernatural that showcases the strong support systems women develop when faced with difficult and dangerous circumstances. The story-line and structure are reminiscent of the successful movies, ‘The Sixth Sense’, and ‘Split’, written by M. Night Shyamalan.
Production Specifics: The screenplay is industry formatted, feature length and budget sensible. There are only seven actors required and a small number of easily accessible shooting locations needed for production.

My psychological drama,"Swell" meets your requirements.

Logline: In a time of poodle skirts and sock hops, a dejected teenager struggles to escape her off-kilter family whose lives are filled with atomic bomb drills, oppressive rules and addiction.

It’s 1955 and Sydney Mitchell is drowning. Her mother, Claire, obsessed with preparing for nuclear war has inadvertently confined herself to the house with a constantly crying newborn, while her father, Henry has reverted to his old friend whiskey to aide in his enforcement of harsh family guidelines. Sydney soon finds refuge in an eccentric feminist and a softhearted outsider whose encouragement results in her signing her father’s signature for a scholarship that promises to take her out of state. But, as her parents slip deeper into their grisly fixations, an unexpected rival and a decline in grades prompts Sydney to ingest copious amounts of pharmaceutical speed to help her study, forcing her into a claustrophobic nightmare where she realizes that she must fight for, not only her freedom, but the freedom of someone she hoped would never exist.

Please let me know if you would like to read the completed script and I will send it right over.

Re: Drama,Sci-Fi, Period, or Horror Screenplays Wanted

Hello Producer,

I'm a novelist who writes in a variety of tones in the thriller-horror arena.
I've put my knowledge of screenwriting to use and have a few scripts in this style. One is based on a short science fiction story. My science fiction is character-focused (in the vein of Farscape) and not bogged down with scientific detail or alternate universes.

MODIFIED LOGLINE:
A cynical scientist's world is ripped apart when he discovers he is the subject of a secret project with unknown consequences. He is torn between faith to his profession and exposing a scheme that will both save and ruin him.

My thriller-horror scripts are character-rich, dialogue-driven and focused on depth of concept, not expensive special effects. They have minimal locations and cast, and rely mostly on easy tricks and cinematography to create the dread of horror.

A couple are set in English-speaking Europe but can be easily modified to suit an American setting without loss of concept.

I am happy to offer a free script if you option another. I'm reluctant to post sensitive details here so I hope you can email me, whereby I'll send my loglines, short synopses for your consideration and more information about myself.

Regards.
