Re: New Production Company Building Network

Hi, I'm Steve and I'm pretty new on this board (but have been writing for years). My writing has won a couple small contests, got a few corny sketches produced, and had a feature offered and option, but they backed out. I'm looking for an opportunity to collaborate with a writer/producer to develop an original feature, or negotiate handing over the rights for any of my already-written material. I write quirky, broad comedies mostly.

Thanks for reading!

I write for both the stage and the screen.

I'm currently looking for production opportunities for my stage play, "A Girl's Guide To Wow". It's about two sisters who become involved with a sex-coaching group that advocates "morgasm" as a path to personal fulfillment.

I write scripts and two of them are described below:

Feature Script 1:

THE CURSED (WGA registered)

Page Count: 136pp
Genre: Drama

Logline:

Four extremely dangerous inmates are at large after escaping from women's prison.

Synopsis/Details:

Lynn Logan, a child who was abandoned by her mother at the age of 6 and taken by protective services at the age of 10 because of physical abuse she endured at the hands of her father and placed in an orphanage, goes to jail directly from the orphanage at the age of almost 18, because she kills one of the orphanage nuns who was both physically and verbally abusive to her since the day she was left in the orphanage. Having no happy day in her life, now, at the dawn of her youth, she is sent to prison for eleven years feeling betrayed by both her parents and life..
In prison she meets three more girls who ended up in prison by a dirty trick of life and feel the same way, betrayed and neglected by life and by the people they loved. These three girls are: 21-year-old Melyssa Ross Toback, who was wrongfully convicted based on false confessions and sent to jail for drug trafficking, for the crime she didn’t commit. 20-year-old Kacie James, who got in prison for a murder of one of her schoolmates. And, 21-year-old Reagan Wiles, who was sentenced to sixteen years for premeditated murder and attempted murder of her rapists.

Four years later, girls come up with a prison break plan which involves a prison riot and succeeds. Except Melyssa, who is killed by the guards while breaking, the rest three girls, Lynn, Reagan and Kacie manage to escape from prison. Now they are at large. And the next part of their plan involves seeking revenge on everyone who is responsible for their imprisonment.
First of all they find a secure place to hide. Then the first thing Lynn does is to find the guy who gave false evidence against Melyssa. She finds and kills him.
After this, the girls go after Kacie’s ex-boyfriend who was primarily involved in Kacie’s imprisonment. They find him in a bar with his friends and a gun fight breaks out among them as the result of which Kacie ends up dead and Reagan gets recaptured by the police.
Now only Lynn is at large and Reagan is being interrogated by federal agents to find out Lynn’s whereabouts, with no success though. Meanwhile, Lynn finds her mother’s address which is in a different state, and burns her whole family alive at their house.
After murdering her mother’s family, Lynn comes back for Reagan. She helps Reagan escape from the police headquarters and they pick up where they left off.
The next thing they do is to kill Reagan’s two rapists who survived her first murder attempt. But Reagan gets killed in the process too.
Now Lynn is all alone and desperate. She finds her father’s new family and kidnaps his two children. Threatening to kill the children, she demands that he come and meet her alone. The police is already with her father and their first attempt to arrest Lynn when meeting her father, fails.
Finally, the police finds out the place where Lynn is hiding and surround the location. They have to be very careful as Lynn still has the children. With an STF operation they succeed to get into the building where Lynn hides. Lynn refuses to surrender and is shot to death. But there is no sign of the children. The police start considering the possibility that they may already be dead too.
In the final scene, the children are found safe and sound at home when the police drive Lynn’s father and his wife to their house.

Feature Script 2:

DON'T HURRY TO JUDGE (WGA registered)

Page Count: 90pp
Genre: Romance

Logline:

A young businessman is trying to earn a simple student's heart which he broke due to a big misunderstanding.

Synopsis/Details:

Kaden is a young businessman who values decency and morality above everything and cannot stand people who lead low lifestyle. Bree is a student in a university who values humanity above everything. She tries her best to be helpful for everyone who needs help.
The movie begins with a busy morning when Kaden, at his family house, is getting ready to go to his office and Bree, on a busy street, is preparing to shoot a film on a social experiment about the people’s attitude to drug addicts. At the last moment, the actress who was supposed to play the drug addict hooker, refuses to come and Bree has to play her herself. Ironically or accidentally, Kaden, on his way to the office, is driving through the street where Bree is shooting her film. And he sees Bree playing a drug addict on the street in a hooker outfit. But he doesn’t know that they are making a social experiment video so he takes it as a real life situation and he thinks Bree is a real drug addict and hooker. The kind of people he cannot stand. In addition to this, he meets Bree once again, on the evening of the same day, in a bar from where she walks out with an old man. Once again he thinks she is a kind of prostitute. But actually, Bree was escorting an old tenant back to the care home where she volunteers.
Later Kaden meets Bree in a party and also their house as his sister invites her. But Kaden turns Bree out of the party as well as their house as he thinks she is not a proper person to be around them. Bree is confused and humiliated. She thinks she is being treated this way only because she is poor and he is rich. Ironically she starts a part time job in the company where Kaden is the manager. Of course, Kaden fires her from the job too, as soon as he sees her there. He also warns her to stay away from his sister.
But later Kaden finds out from his sister the truth about the scenes he saw on the street. He realizes his big mistake and his conscience starts tormenting him. So he decides to work hard to earn Bree’s forgiveness. But it is not so easy. He hurt Bree so bad that she does not even want to see him.
In the beginning, it was only about earning Bree’s forgiveness. But in the process, Kaden falls in love with her as he sees her real lifestyle. Now he works hard to earn her heart. And he eventually achieves his goal. But unfortunately, Bree hears his phone conversation with his friend where they discuss some business related matter and, Bree misunderstands their conversation. She thinks they are talking about her and Kaden was around her pretending to care for her just because he made a bet with his friend. She immediately stops all the relations with him and she even does not let Kaden explain the situation.
But Kaden decides not to give up and to earn her heart back again. In the end of the movie, Kaden, his friend and his sister arrange a trip where all the dark points become clear and Bree realizes her misunderstandings too. And there we have the happy ending.

I am a young and ambitious writer who creates poems in his free time and an animator in training. I create screenplays for both film and Tv but i aspire to do mostly animated films and change the way animated films are seen in the west. I aspire to become a director whose career is built on nothing but animated shows and films and I hope to create animate films that go beyond the regular type of animated storytelling. I'm also from Jamaica.

Hi,

I'm a writer who has a diverse array of shorts, web series, pilot, and feature scripts completed. I write stories that showcase often ignored communities including people of color, women, and queer folks. I think that my voice as a queer black woman is very dynamic and necessary especially in relation to today's media consumers. My goal is simply to create compelling and quality content, and eventually create a digital series that tells a story that has been missing from mainstream media for years.

I mostly write drama and science fiction, but I also have a few light fantasy scripts. Please feel free to ask for samples/scripts/further information. My email is below!

I'm a seasoned (old) comedy sketch and screenwriter returning to writing after a 15-year hiatus. I've had representation in the past, but not currently represented. Optioned once. Non-union

I've three features: A crime/drama, a comedy sci-fi/horror/fantasy anthology, and a traditional western. I'm currently working on an adult sitcom mini-series.

My bio and info on my projects can be viewed at [sign in to see URL] by entering Gene Gwynne in search, under the heading Winningscripts.
