Re: Hitchcockian Slasher Film Wanted

Hi there,

Here is a Logline and Synopsis for your consideration. My writing made the Page Awards Semi Final.

Logline:

American Standard:
Abused in childhood, a crazed Vixen seeks revenge, by slaughtering males across America, setting up a confrontational ending with the Cop who saved her from her evil Stepfather.

Synopsis:
American Standard is a tale of Erica Strong, a twenty-seven-year-old raven haired beauty suffering from the devastating ill’s of schizophrenia and enslaved by a lethal heroin addiction, brought on by the horrific abuse by her stepfather Frank when she was an innocent twelve-year-old Julie Ambrose.

Erica, a knockout sales rep for American Standard plumbing products, exacts her woeful revenge on unsuspecting male victims by arranging sexual liaisons in hotels across America, via kinky alternative sex sites. At her appointed rendezvous, she unmercifully slays them with a twelve inch kitchen knife to the back of the neck, killing her unsuspecting victims over and over as she extracts revenge upon Frank, her nefarious, evil stepfather.

Her repeated killings of elderly look alike Frank’s take a twist for the worst when she degenerates further into her depravity by victimizing a younger innocent male, whom she captivates in a Miami airport lounge. With her inner demons in full throttle, Erica heads back to her home town of Chicago, desperately seeking some relief for her tormented soul.

Enter Syd Turner. A retired fifty-five-year-old cop extraordinaire, who by demons of his own making, has transformed himself into a reclusive, quirky alcoholic. Obsessed by Julie, who he saved from a torturous life many years earlier, Syd is lured out of retirement by Lloyd, a loose fitting cop friend to hunt down this man killer once and for all, who the police have aptly nicknamed, Jugular Jackie.
Syd, with the guidance of his therapist, is urged to tackle the unenviable task of hunting down Erica, unaware that she is his sweet Julie from years past.

Thrusted into the fast moving world of high tech, Syd seeks guidance from his estranged brother Saul’s daughter, Jennifer, who wires him back to the real world.

With her drug and mental illness in full bloom, Erica, jets up to New Jersey to regroup with her surrogate father boss, Karl. This trip turns awry as Karl’s secret sexual desires unfold, spinning Erica out of control and leaving her lost in a living hell. She jets back to Chicago and prepares for her final demise. Thirsting for younger blood, Erica unwittingly leaves a clue for Syd at a hotel (a silver bracelet) in the toilet bowl. She also spares the life of an innocent eighteen-year-old male after experiencing a hallucination of Julie in the bedroom mirror, which in turn, spirals Syd into a drunken tizzy.

Armed with his intuitive instinct, Syd experiences a flash of brilliance about the silver bracelet, which ultimately leads him to a solid link to Erica via an old lover friend of hers named Jewel. Erica, rife with schizophrenic hallucinations while appearing as the keynote speaker for careers night at The Girl’s Club of America, takes the final steps toward her inevitable end by helping Syd to complete his gumshoe work. A climatic ending ensues when Syd comes face to face with Erica in the bedroom of her luxurious apartment. A long awaited peace for Erica? Resolve for Syd? The final countdown has begun.

Title: "MERCY"

Logline: Four strangers are haunted by a vindictive, zealot entity that uses the game MERCY as a motif in punishing the transgressions of sinners.

It's Seven meets It Follows. Your favorite childhood game of pain re-imagined as your worst living nightmare.

My name is Michael Gentry and I have a supernatural psychological horror that I would like to have you read.

"Mercy" follows the lives of four strangers whose world is turned upside down when they find themselves the helpless victim of an entity on a crusade to punish the sins of those it regards as unrighteous by subjecting each of them to a life of torture by means of various levels of pain tolerance. With a desperate plea of "mercy" being the only method of escape from this demented game of torture, Kurt, Natalie, Sam, and Marcus will discover that it's much easier to believe in theory than done in reality. Fate has methodically separated them for a time, but "mercy" will strangely enough now, draw them closer together. Can the four of them find the strength to endure and escape this hellhole victoriously, or will they succumb to an awaited judgment and damnation?

I'm confident that the suspense demonstrated within the script, as well as the well-crafted plot twist will be able to appeal to a very large and diverse audience. Thank you for your time and let me know if you would like to have the script sent to you.

Best Regards,

Michael Gentry

Hello,
I've written a 7 page short horror/thriller called "Till Death Do Us Part"

It takes place entirely in a house, has one male character and three females, with a twist ending.

Log line: A disgruntled husband plans his revenge on his family while his family makes plans for him.

Let me know if it's something you'd be interested in giving a read.

Thanks,
Bill LeBlanc

Hi,
My script 'Apollyon Hall' meets the spec. It's low budget and small cast / limited location;

Logline -

Refurbishing a deserted guest house becomes a fight for survival for a small building team when one workman is possessed by the spirit of a murderer

Apollyon Hall - Synopsis;

The owner of a small building company (John Tate) is contracted to refurbish a disused guest house in Wales (Apollyon Hall). His secretary and ex lover, Paula, organizes B&B digs local to the job. The crew stops by to drop off their gear. When the landlady discovers they’re working at Apollyon Hall she turns them away. They decide to stay in the Hall itself. Paula joins them bringing overnight supplies. Apollyon Hall is a large granite pile, isolated and creepy. There is a new garage built about 50 metres from the house.
Odd things start happening from arrival. The front door refuses to open to anyone except Alec. Opened curtains mysteriously close themselves etc. Craig is sent to check out the place. In bedroom 5 he’s struck with crippling nausea but recovers as soon as he leaves the room. Alec checks it out but is unaffected. He claims this as his bedroom. Later, there is a bizarre incident in the kitchen when an apparition appears and the kitchen is wrecked. Alec claims not to have seen any of it. More bizarre things happen as the evening wears on. John tries to use his mobile but when he uses it all he hears is a girl in distress. While Paula is taking a shower her clothes are ruined. Alec is accused of carrying out practical jokes. He goes missing. John looks for him in bedroom 5 but he is also struck down with illness as soon as he enters the room.
John decides there must be some sort of hallucinatory gas lingering in the Hall so orders them to sleep in the vans overnight. Alec reappears and reacts aggressively to the others when told the plan. He refuses to leave the Hall. The others leave him and spend the night in the van.
The next morning Paula is sent to get building materials. Whilst out, she meets a reporter (Mickey) who tells her the Hall was used for orphans in transition to being self supporting. A number of girls had gone missing from there but the police never investigated, believing they were absconders. Mickey believes their social worker (Maddox) was behind their disappearances but Maddox himself had disappeared. Paula sees Maddox’s photo. It’s the apparition they saw in the Hall.
Alec becomes completely possessed by the spirit of Maddox. He attacks Craig and stabs him, then attacks Paula. He knocks her out and takes her to the garage where he has a secret dungeon under the floor. Inside it’s hell. She sees the tortured corpses of the missing girls and that of Maddox. John tries to rescue Paula but Alec overpowers him, nearly killing him. Paula escapes but Alec catches her. He is about to rape her when Craig, barely alive, manages to kill Alec and save Paula.
Later, the police, ambulances, paramedics etc. are doing the mop up. John tells us the missing parts of story and about their recovery etc. The dead girls had been abducted and used as sex toys by Maddox. When Maddox died through a sex act gone badly wrong the girls couldn’t escape. They had died of starvation in the container. Maddox had been the original owner of the Hall. The contract had a penalty clause that bankrupts John. John marries Paula and starts a new business advising building companies on health and safety.
The end.

I recently finished a contemporary Jekyll-Hyde tale set at a Los Angeles hospital psyche ward, entitled, "Doctor Hyde."

Log Line: When an aspiring psychiatrist is attacked by his criminally insane patient, he is forced to ingest an unstable psychotic drug that transforms him into an uncontrollable altered-state monster.
