Re: TV Screenplays Wanted

Most of my 40 year life, I've come up with so many film ideas. I never knew how to get them made, as I did not write any scripts. I invented the idea of merging two films to carry on stories. One of my ideas, I posted on a public site and a few years later, the idea was stolen and used but thankfully, their twist on my story was a box office flop. Karma if you ask me.

So I have many ideas. My most recent is based upon my own true life but I embellished it to suit the story. I took two of my favorite films " Beaches" and "Some Kind of Wonderful" and I realized it mirrored my own life. My story is a combination of the two films. I'm not going to put the details here but I will say that the characters in my story are people that viewers will identify with. They will build the characters up and then be angry with their actions and turn against those characters. They will laugh, they will cry, they will have heartfelt moments. The store takes a huge turn and then takes off again then another huge turn then takes off and a dramatic ending leaves them with hope.

The success of the show is based on the characters. If they audience can not relate to them then they lose interest. Every episode has to draw you in. Sense8 and 13 Reasons Why, failed to draw viewers in with the pilot and the first three episodes.

I can be reached via gmail. My user name here is my email.

Re: TV Screenplays Wanted

"The Veil" is a series of twenty-four (24) supernatural stories each running one half-hour. Formatted similar to The Twilight Zone, there is a regular host and an introduction adapted for each story.

The locations are limited to no more than three, few special effects and small casts. Episodes will have one mainstream artist as the lead character with local talent cast for minor roles. Most cities can accommodate excellent locations, rural and urban, with props for antiquated scenes.

The tone of the series is relative in that they have the feel of a storyteller, sharing supernatural experiences through the eyes of the host. Some stories are light and quirky with humorous characters while others are ominous, dark and spooky.

Although the time periods and locations vary, the stories are timeless in respect to human fears and wonderment. There is minimal, to no blood and gore, profanity and sex, just themes to make the audience think that this could actually happen, or just say, “wow.” It is family oriented.

What makes The Veil unique is that the stories evolve from various time periods and ethnicities, primarily, African American. Many cultures and ethnic groups have supernatural stories that are untapped and The Veil will be an excellent platform to present them.

The series will open in a dimly lit room with the host seated at a fireplace with an open book briefly describing the upcoming story. Following the story’s introduction, the host will say: “And here is another story from behind “The Veil.” A Veil will open exposing a woman’s exotic eyes…

Television
*Mama Conte© (30 min sitcom) In the vein of All in the Family and (quasi) The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell.

Italian immigrant, MARIA CONTE (60’s), puts love of family and traditional cultural values first as she partially fights against, and partially acquiesces to, what she considers the absurd nuances of American culture.

Character Descriptions, series premise, and pilot script available upon request to company's e-mail.
