Good Morning. My name is Haig Tufankjian. I am a Freelance Screenwriter with two completed screenplays in early stages of development with Atlantic Overseas Pictures/Harris Salomon Producer.

Below is one of several original screenplays not contracted to any production company.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Logline:“A Curious Turn of Events”. WGA 1534904 (106 pages)

Similar to: Hollywood Homicide/Harrison Ford.

Set in a Northern New England city, young aggressive Detective Samantha Blake and burned-out seasoned crime reporter Mike Phillips want to know why ex-cons, who are trying to go straight, are being murdered by someone called the “Defender” and why the murder suspects are killing themselves?

“Sam”, is the department’s best detective. Mike is a burned out newspaper reporter who enjoys meddling in her cases. He’s at it again, this time trying to out-smart both Sam and the Defender. Sam and Mike are also emotionally tied together by the death of Mike’s son Tommy, killed while serving in Afghanistan. Samantha was married to Tommy just before he left on his last combat mission. Now the two have to overcome their personal demons while trying to crack the case that has left their city in turmoil.

Hey, responding to your post. Screenplay is called "Contempt Beneath."

LOG: A young woman wages all-out war against the monstrosity who aims to destroy that which she loves the most during childhood, college and marriage.

Little about me: I'm the former managing editor of Decibel (premier extreme music magazine in U.S.), and have two shorts under my belt (latest stars Adrienne Barbeau), as well as an option with an independent producer for a separate feature-length. If you want to see the full script for "Contempt, Beneath" -- or any of my work via Vimeo -- let me know and we can discuss further.

Best,
Andrew B.

Screenplay hot from the oven.

Title: R U Hot?

Logline: A beautiful girl becomes an instant sensation on the social app "RUHOT" only to discover that the program is designed for tracking and abducting pretty girls and selling them to the highest bidder.

Received positive coverage from Bloodnotes. Available on request.

I know what you're thinking, a movie about abducting women in this political climate? Crazy right? Not when a movie like "Get Out" became the hottest [sign in to see URL] the while being released at the pinnacle of racial tension in the United States. And what are people talking about now; what's all over the news? Violence against women, sexual harassment against women. So what do we do in the universe of horror? We make a movie about it!

When I write a script, I want the same thing that you do. I want to stake my claim on an idea! RUHOT is the perfect script for your budget. It has something to say about society; about vanity; and if you think this is some typical "guys kidnap girl for sex" thing, wait till the script flips that cliche on its face!

Thanks for your time.

Title: Honey

Logline: Mia's not the kind of person you'd notice missing—and that's exactly what her deranged kidnapper expects when he snatches her from the back of a cop car. But he never intended to get so [sign in to see URL] he can't even imagine what she's capable of.

Now she believes she sees dead people.
At first, Sissy has trouble distinguishing the living from the dead, before realizing, a nurse, she had grown close to during her recovery had actually died years earlier. TITLE BAD BARGAIN

SYNOP

Hale is on top of his game. A mystery writer, he has just won his first Edgar. He has a promising future, a fine old house in New England and a gorgeous wife who adores him. Since perfection is not allowed, his life has a flaw. His wife suffers from chronic lung disease. Despite modern science, her lungs are failing.

Hale has a witch for a neighbor—or so the local gossip touts. While researching a plot, he interviews the witch who intimates that she is merely an intermediary between demons and humans. Humans want things, demons provide—for a price. While there, Hale witnesses the sealing of a deal between the witch and the mayor of the town. Shortly after, the mayor’s son transforms from teenage delinquent to dean’s list. The mayor quits her political career and becomes a lush.

When his wife’s lungs fail, Hale does the only thing he knows to do. He goes to the witch and bargains with a demon. His wife will recover. In fact, her lungs will be better than ever. But he must pay the tariff. He must build a shrine to the demon. He must write 1,000 words per day, every day, and nothing he writes can be published. He must give up the thing he loves to keep the thing he loves. A hard bargain but what choice does he have?

As if by magic, is wife is cured, and her doctor can’t believe it. Hale keeps his part of the bargain. He writes demon pornography and works on his shrine. He returns to the witch in order to renegotiate, but there can be no changes. To test the pact, he fails to complete his 1,000 words. At midnight, his wife has an attack, and while she gasps for breath on the bedroom floor, he completes his allottment, saving her again.

While his wife waxes more beautiful and energetic than ever, Hale declines. No new work, no new money, excuses to his wife and agent, Hale struggles to make some kind of life. His marriage deteriorates as his wife has an affair with her doctor. She wants the old life. He is no longer that man.

At the same time, the mayor has sunk to new lows. Her husband leaves, her son despises her. She is an embarrassment to everyone. Yet, she persists.

Hale’s wife gets a divorce and moves in with the doctor. Hale wants to stop churning out his 1,000 words per day, but he still loves her. When the doctor dies suddenly, Hale takes back his former wife, at least until she can find a new place. She works as a waitress for money. He teaches. Neither is happy.

She meets the mayor’s son, and together they plan twin murders. She will kill the former mayor, and he will help her kill her husband.

They manage to kill the former mayor, but the premature death breaks a pact. The son falls off the wagon and begins doing drugs and alcohol again. Hale’s wife is committed however. She enlists the teen’s help in luring Hale into a blizzard.

She meets the teen with his snowmobile, leaving Hale to wander in the snow and dark. The teen crashes into a tree, killing himself, and injuring her. Hale realizes he’s hopelessly lost. He sits with his back against a tree to await death.

She uses a cell phone to call for help. Midnight is at hand. Hale never completed his daily ration of words. Even as she talks to a dispatcher, the attack comes. Her lungs fail. She dies.

BLACK APPLE (feature, drama, horror)
Logline: A man plagued by inner demons is contacted by an old friend, a medical scientist who wrongly claims to have discovered God.

'Black Apple' is a dark and unnerving character based drama, it deals with the fear of death and what it is to die, in a horrific but beautifully haunting way. The film is set in the 1950's and centres around an isolated country house, located in the remote Highlands of Scotland. The house is led by a slowly maddening doctor who is worshipped by his devoted followers (all women) who treat and think of him as a God, with fatal and frightening results.

I'm working with a reputable Belgian production company, however one of the agreements made with this company is that my literary partner and I will seek the rest of the funding needed (est. 40%) from UK/US production companies.

We have been working on perfecting our screenplay, 'Black Apple', for a number of years. The screenplay was edited by best selling author Milly Johnson.

Best regards
