Re: Urban Drama Screenplays Wanted

SYNOPSIS:

Talia, a Latin American aspiring rapper in her mid-twenties, finds herself in a world of love, lies and deception after becoming a part of a music production company she believed would help her to realize her dream.

Nine years prior to the dramatic events that unfold, a younger Talia is escorted by her father to a music and performing arts high school audition; with hopes of becoming a dance student there. After being accepted by the school, Talia enthusiastically continues to learn and develop her dance skills. One day, someone hands her a flyer about a college hip-hop showcase, which she attends. As Talia watches the headlining Hip-hop rap artist perform, she becomes inspired and discovers her true passion. Talia immediately begins to mimic and recite the artist’s rap lines. At home in her bedroom, she starts to recite her own poems to music.

Eight years have passed. Talia has become a seasoned hip-hop lyricist; but at twenty five years old she still lives with her parents and her father is unhappy with her career decision. Talia decides to move out of her parents’ apartment and into her own place to make a statement of her independence.

Unwilling to depend on her parents, and independent of her jealous boyfriend, Danny, Talia attempts to keep her head above water; with her day job at a bank and night gig at a club. After Talia catches Danny having sex with another woman in her bed, she ends the relationship. One night at the club, her friend Jessica introduces her to a music producer by the name of Stacks. Talia recites a few really impressive freestyle rap lines, which grabs Stacks’ attention. He gives her a business card and invites her to come to his studio. Talia takes him up on his invitation.

The next night, Talia shows up at Stacks’ studio. He introduces her to one of his rap artists named Ram, who she has immediate chemistry with. Later Stacks shows Talia his operation and welcomes her to the production family; but everything glittering isn’t gold. Talia's dream will become a living nightmare. She’s caught up!

This story is based on the true events of one of the writers.

Re: Urban Drama Screenplays Wanted

Hello. I have written a feature length film!!

My film is unique and in its own lane, which I believe is good from a marketing level.

It’s an urban “coming of age” film that has suspense, romance, and drama that’s set in the South and centered on Jesus!

Most of it is inspired from my real life living.

I believe possibly a reputable actor and/or director is what is left for the movie to be picked up and produced.

I would love to connect with you and show you the script to read. If you choose to be a part in the producing of it, I would love to talk with you.

I can email you the script if you are willing to help me. I only need to know where to email it.
Thank you

My urban drama was a Sundance Screenwriters Lab Finalist. I've received four offers to finance this project in the new year and am in the process of making a decision.
