Hello,
I've written a 7 page short thriller called "Till Death Do Us Part"

It takes place entirely in a house, has one male character and three females, with a twist ending.

Log line: A disgruntled husband plans his revenge on his family while his family makes plans for him.

Let me know if it's something you'd be interested in giving a read.

Thanks,
Bill LeBlanc

     THIS CEMETERY IS MINE
Finished TV Pilot Episode to a Series

           by
           David Orange
           (based on his published novella)

60 pages, mostly one locaton
Genre: Supernatural Mystery/Humor

Logline: A man accidentally buried alive interacts briefly with the world of the dead; when pulled out from the ground and saved, his channel to the underworld never closes, dragging him into situations of danger and love, attracting two conflicting women--a tough detective and a gifted, borderline sociopath.

Synopsis to TV Pilot and Series Overview:

Pauli Tilson, 40’s, an ordinary Brooklyn man is caught between life and death when accidentally buried alive at the vast historical Green-Wood Cemetery. But Fate has different plans for him. Feral parrots land atop Pauli’s grave, squawking ferociously bringing attention to workers who save him.
Pauli realizes these birds are uniquely special, guiding him to various Spirits of the dead. To his amazement, he can communicate with them and pass information to cemetery mourners in often tender interludes.

Pauli is eventually led to griever Dreama Dawson, 20’s. Rail-thin and tomboyish pretty, she’s the quintessential “don’t-judge-a-book-by-its-cover” type. A recent widower visiting her husband’s grave, this rebellious, troubled girl is on the verge of ending things. Life’s travails have turned Dreama into a borderline sociopath walking a fine line among genius, insanity and the wild side--a wounded but hardened animal whose survival weapons include a photographic memory and awesome martial arts skills.
Dreama cautions Pauli with her signature cold unwavering stare: “There’s not a single muscle on my body that isn’t for a purpose. When I get feisty, I get really !@#$ feisty!”

Pauli is an inspirational quirky underdog protagonist who survives against all odds. A reclusive, shy type who hasn’t gone out with a woman in years, he’s attracted to Dreama’s inability to conform to social norms and her own set of moral principles. Is Pauli imagining it, or is she slowly beginning to open up her hard outer shell, giving a glimpse of a desperate vulnerability?

Carl Dawson was the only person ever able to understand Dreama and her complex personality. Pauli becomes a medium for her, and in the process discovers the real Dreama. He tells her he can no longer contact Carl’s Spirit hoping she’ll forget her husband and get closer to him.

One day when the parrots fail to appear, Pauli disobeys the Spirit rules and goes wandering on his own. He stumbles upon the gruff Spirit of Sammy Giancolumbo--a one-time Mafia Don. Sammy has a tormented soul confronting the monsters within, and pleads that his son will die at the hands of a brutal rival mobster (Freddy the Fist) unless he gets Sammy’s twenty million that he stashed before being killed.
Drawn in to the cemetery is Harriet O’Keefe (40) aka “Dirty Harriet”—almost pretty, ballsy, unsmiling with abundant testosterone who has little concern for political correctness. She’s married to her job for which her wise-acre black partner Lester Gaines (40’s) cracks that “cobwebs are making her cranky!”
O’Keefe doesn’t believe in psychics whom she considers nothing but mumbo-jumbo, until Pauli presents hard evidence of her accountability for sending an innocent man to his Green-wood grave.
If O’Keefe is ever to get help from Pauli, she must swear total secrecy of his psychic gift. That proves a daunting task since O’Keefe’s detective squad is baffled over whom is the Deep Throat giving her hot criminal leads?
Spirits also bound by godly rules can only nudge Pauli in the right direction sprinkling clues in a jigsaw puzzle way. He never knows what grave the parrots will guide him to, but when he arrives invariably there’s emotional emergency involved.
Dreama possesses a particular skill uniquely valuable to Pauli. She’s a world class trivia quiz competitor, a gaming contestant monster with a photographic memory that retains myriad facts about everything--including those of the famous and infamous residents at the expansive cemetery.

Pauli realizes that saving Sammy Giancolumbo’s son comes with a price: he must locate the missing millions for Freddy or else the mobster will also go after him and Dreama. Pauli, shaking in his shoes, must become the bait to lure in Freddy while Dreama using her trivia skills sets off in the cemetery to unravel clues and cryptic codes leading to the hidden loot buried there. The plan must work, or else Freddy will make sure Pauli swims with the fishes.

O’Keefe goes on stakeout at a cemetery mausoleum, with her team. She waits for Freddy and his goons to make a false move. Once they’re caught with the loot and taken into custody, Pauli fears repercussions believing he and Dreama now have targets on their backs. The cemetery has become Pauli’s passion, his whole life. Forced to re-locate out of harm’s way would destroy him. He would be better off dead.

However, Sammy’s stately mausoleum was never meant for the departed. Its’ astonishing living quarters, secret passageway and what have been left in a Will to whoever saves his wife and son from mob paybacks. It leads O’Keefe to suggest Pauli considers using the crypt secretly to not only hide out but to become the Phantom of the Graveyard-- helping her fight crime and the relentless pursuit of criminals.

Pauli balks at the idea, desiring nothing more than to console mourners. But Dreama feels different; she’s now found a life where she can unleash her talents and be needed. She convinces Pauli to allow her to be his partner.

O’Keefe’s background check on Dreama discloses a shocking dark side. The young woman has a tendency to find trouble and her past is littered with victims who have done her wrong. And exactly who was her deceased husband Carl? O’Keefe thus begins an unsettling relationship with Dreama who loathes authoritative figures such as her. The detective can make a case that the maladjusted girl belongs in an institution, but with Dreama and Pauli having an uncanny ability to apprehend criminals, Detective O’Keefe will look the other [sign in to see URL] least for the time being.

This Cemetery is Mine is a refreshingly original, free-handed mystery detective series with a whole new set of zaniness. Breaking down preexisting genres, it plots the adventures of our engaging trio driving the series using bizarre techniques to foil evil so New York City can be the best that it can be.

The self-contained episodes will be drama driven but often tickling the funny bone. It will also keep viewers stimulated by using their own history trivia skills to connect the dots to solving cemetery puzzles.

"AKA CANDI" is a 21 page short. Ostensibly much of it is located inside Tijuana bars, but of course, there's no need to go to Tijuana. A couple of establishing shots should suffice.

Annie (aka Candi)is a free spirit who allowed herself to be locked into a marriage with an older man. Devoted, he's nevertheless staid and dozes off after dinner leaving Annie frustrated.
While he's at his fishing business, Annie runs around LA and Long Beach enjoying the attention she gets in lounges (and the free booze). With one hunk, the couple run off to Tijuana for what she calls a "real Marguerita".

Once in Tijuana, Candi's adventures begin after she and the hunk get separated. Funny at times, her story turns tragic when she gets into serious trouble and, beaten to a pulp, she dies on the way to the hospital.

This story was inspired by true events. I'll be happy to send a pdf copy upon request. Thanks, Carl PS, my feature screenplay "HAIL MARY" is presently in development in Florida.
