posticon In Search Of Talented Writers

Writer/Producers looking for the write talent.

Up & Coming writers(all genres) sought after for independently packaged feature films.

There is scores of content & IPs to produce and looking to bring aboard a handful of good writers ...this is the rabbit hole off the mainstream, with special industry connections, insight & advantages.

To break the ice, just post a quick line about yourself.. Perhaps what genre you love to watch vs. what you're strong suit is, if not the same.. its common.
2) Are you a classic writer/ modern wordsmith/peculiar/bare bones/visceral?
3)got a Logline?
4)How would you rate your writing 1-11([sign in to see URL]'t be so hard on yourself)
5) what genre do you want to explore or write more of?

Re: In Search Of Talented Writers

Dear Producer,
I've been fortunate enough to write the screenplays for 4 produced and distributed feature films, starring folks like Ben Kingsley, Natasha Lyonne and Maggie Q.
I focus on character, not plot. Why? Unless you know your characters, you don't know what they want or need. And unless you know that, then what they go after won't seem motivated. It'll just seem convenient and therefore hollow.
I have many loglines. Please give me a call or shoot me an email to discuss what I can bring to the table.
Thanks

Re: In Search Of Talented Writers

Hello,

My name is Michael Gentry and I'm a screenwriter unlike any other. My specialty is giving moviegoers what they want; fresh, original material that will ALWAYS have them on the edge of their seats!

(2). I'm a screenwriter, with an art for creating material that is thought-provoking, constantly creating scripts that challenge the thinking mind.

(3). This logline is based on my latest script, a script that has NEVER been done before and is an epic, psychological thriller that will leave everyone talking! GUARANTEED!

"MERCY"

LOGLINE: Based on the popular children's game of the same name, four strangers are haunted by an unknown entity, known simply as "the Monster", who terrorizes their minds, as well as their sanity, using the same tactics of the game.

(4) On a scale of 1-11, I'm an 11 most definitely! Let my work speak for itself and prove this.

(5). I enjoy thrillers the most, primarily psychological and psychological horrors, but would love to explore more dramas as well. Dramas seem to really allow people to get in touch with their sensitive sides and also, challenge certain people to see the reality that others elsewhere are living with.

If you're just as serious as I am, my contact information is provided below. Thank you and I look forward to working with you soon.

Re: In Search Of Talented Writers

I have over twenty years of professional writing experience with numerous Chicago-area advertisers and publishers. Since turning freelance, I've written eleven screenplays and six novels.

Most writers believe they are unique, the best in their craft, an eleven on a scale of one to ten. Me? I just write what no one else has the guts or the vision to write:

- A feature-length drama about complete disclosure of the truth behind the UFO coverup ("Oblivion," which won high praise in the very first Project Greenlight competition).

- A venerable actor's brave attempt to perform a one-man show featuring the words of one of the most hated men in human history, Adolph Hitler (a fifteen page short entitled "One Night Only").

- A one-hour TV drama about the *real* Men in Black, with the content of "The X-Files" and the threatening tension of "The Sopranos" (the pilot "Silencers," a finalist in every competition in which it's been entered).

- A serio-comic look at the legalization of marijuana, juxtaposed against all the other far worse drugs, and the people who are addicted to them ("Welcome to Highville," called by one reviewer "Willy Wonka on weed").

- A one-hour TV drama that combines elements of "Lost" and "Twin Peaks" with material drawn from ancient history, the roots of the Bible, conspiracy theories about NASA, and all the mindless joy of finding your perfect home, as long as you don't mind that haunted chicken coop in the back yard ("Strangeways").

As you can see, trying to categorize my writing is like trying to catch mercury in a sieve: impossible to do, but fun to try nonetheless.

Feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Re: In Search Of Talented Writers

Hello,

1) I am a screenwriter and novelist living in Washington, DC. I enjoy watching and writing contemporary drama / action / thrillers.

2) I would describe myself as a contemporary screenwriter with a bent toward real-world action and drama.

3) I have a logline for my Syrian conflict script, THE LAST RESCUE (adapted from my Syrian conflict novel), currently in development with Sleeperwave Films*:
A seasoned Muslim freelance journalist and a Hollywood movie star form an unlikely partnership to heroically smuggle children out of a besieged Syrian village.

*Would be happy to share the script as a writing sample.

IMDb link: [url][sign in to see URL]

4) I would put my writing at 7-8 (I'm always working on [sign in to see URL] one can always improve...)

5) I'd like to stick with drama and thriller but would also like to eventually write psychological thrillers and light sci-fi.

Hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Todd Tavolazzi
